FAQ
- A4 is 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 inches). It is the most widely used paper size for office documents, printing, and business letters worldwide, except in North America where Letter (216×279mm) is standard.
- JIS B4 is 257×364mm while ISO B4 is 250×353mm — they have different dimensions. Japan uses JIS B series for standard office and printing paper. ISO B is used in Europe and most other countries. When buying B5 paper in Japan, expect JIS B5 (182×257mm).
- The standard resume photo size in Japan is 30×40mm. Some formats specify 33×48mm. Passport and My Number card photos require 35×45mm. Always check the specific document's requirements before having photos taken.
- A4 (210×297mm) is taller but slightly narrower than US Letter (216×279mm). When printing A4-formatted documents on Letter paper, content may be cut off at the bottom. Most modern printers and software can scale automatically.
